DEVELOPING THE ANOINTING OF THE MESSIAH IN YOUR LIFE

The goal of the Maturing and growing Christian is to continually strive to be more like Jesus. To live a life that is moving away from sin through repentance, and living a life of worshipping God through a commitment to His Word and Commandments while building a personal relationship with our Savior and Lord as we abide in Him and He in us. In this process, the Holy Spirit also plays a large role in our guidance and in our development as a follower of Jesus and a citizen of His Kingdom. The interesting thing for me over the past several years is how much individual desire and faith it takes to move closer to God. It is easy to find oneself becoming complacent and satisfied by making what are actually the smallest of efforts to truly give time to God. An occasional visit to church. A good sermon here and there. A prayer once in a while….It Is Simply Not Enough ! Take a moment to open your heart and listen to what it has to say about you, and your Spiritual Life. Is it good? Is it real and fulfilling? Are you truly seeing and hearing God in your life, or just going through the motions. Minimum motions at best.

JESUS ANSWERED HIM, “IF ANYONE LOVES ME, HE WILL KEEP MY WORD, AND MY FATHER WILL LOVE HIM, AND WE WILL COME TO HIM AND MAKE OUR HOME WITH HIM. John 14:23

I HAVE BEEN CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST. IT IS NO LONGER I WHO LIVE, BUT CHRIST WHO LIVES IN ME. AND THE LIFE I NOW LIVE IN THE FLESH I LIVE BY FAITH IN THE SON OF GOD, WHO LOVED ME AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME. Galatians 2:20

As I had gone through the process of stumbling along in my faith, fortunately God put a thirst in my heart for more. I began to physically, emotionally and spiritually want MORE ! People and activities began to pour into my life that caused me to grow, and to change, and to look for ways to be closer to Jesus. But the true Key was allowing myself to give up self rule and let God direct me. In the search for direction, a portion of God’s Word immersed me in the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus Himself as He walked the earth in a man’s existence. Isaiah 11 gives us a clear prophetic picture and detailed description of Jesus Himself, and of the amazing anointing that would rest upon Him,

THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD WILL REST ON HIM-A SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING, A SPIRIT OF COUNSEL AND STRENGTH, A SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE AND OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD. Isaiah 11: 2

The Holy Spirit of God rested upon Jesus and anointed Him with these incredible gifts. Jesus understood the fear of the Lord. Not a fear based in trembling and dread, but a fear based upon an understanding of the Power, Authority, and Ever-Presence of God. A God so BIG that mankind would hardly be able to comprehend Him. A Spirit that gave Wisdom and Knowledge to Jesus in all that He did, and all that He spoke. Teaching, Parables, and Miracles. Counsel and Strength also. Jesus was able to wisely see and give good Counsel, and share that truth with all that He observed and all that He interacted with. Jesus was Strong ! He had the power of His Deity inside Him, and He came to share His Father and His Father’s character and commandments with mankind. He came to have and build and cement a personal relationship with the people who would embrace Him and desire His Kingdom. He came to give His life for ours, given in love, that we who believe might abide in Him, and….THAT WE MIGHT ALSO HAVE THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES IN THE SAME MANNER THAT JESUS DID ! How incredibly humbling and cool is that for us as believers.

AND PETER SAID TO THEM, “REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS, AND YOU WILL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Acts 2:38

BUT YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU, AND YOU WILL BE MY WITNESSES IN JERUSALEM AND IN ALL JUDEA AND SAMARA, AND TO THE END OF THE EARTH. Acts: 1:8

VERY TRULY I TELL YOU, WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME WILL DO THE WORKS I HAVE BEEN DOING AND THEY WILL DO EVEN GREATER THINGS THAN THESE, BECAUSE I AM GOING TO THE FATHER. John 14:12

Wow ! There it is. We are blessed by the Holy Spirit because of our belief in and abiding with Jesus to do those same things that He did. It is our anointing. Our calling. We have the power and authority through Him and the Holy Spirit. Does that EXCITE YOU ? It truly should, because you have an incredible opportunity to serve His Kingdom. You may have wisdom, and understanding, Power and strength. A fear of the Lord, producing an obedience, a humility, and a desire to worship Him and Praise Him. YOU CAN BE A POWERFUL DISCIPLE OF JESUS, SHINING HIS LIGHT INTO THE WORLD AS YOU EMBRACE HIS WILL AND PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE IF YOU SEEK IT AND SEEK HIM ! There is no reason to wait. If you know Jesus, seek the anointing for your life in prayer and start getting busy to find out just who you are in Him. Go Deeper, and become thirsty. If you don’t know Jesus, I have to ask why not ? Is it your own faith in self ? Is your life truly amazing in looking at all you have done for those beside yourself, or just for you ? Are your treasures temporary while you are here on earth, but no treasures for what lies beyond this life ? No matter what you keep telling yourself, Jesus Is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE ! Isaiah is a great place to start. Isaiah shows so much of what was, what is, and what is to come. Be a part of it in the fullness of your anointing. BE ONE IN CHRIST :) Strive for it/JAA

JESUS ANSWERED HIM, “TRULY, TRULY, I SAY TO YOU, UNLESS ONE IS BORN AGAIN HE CANNOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD.” John 3:3
