YOU ARE MADE IN GOD'S IMAGE. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU ?

THEN GOD SAID, “LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE, ACCORDING TO OUR LIKENESS. THEY WILL RULE THE FISH OF THE SEA, THE BIRDS OF THE SKY, THE LIVESTOCK, THE WHOLE EARTH, AND THE CREATURES THAT CRAWL ON THE EARTH.” SO GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE; HE CREATED HIM IN THE IMAGE OF GOD; HE CREATED THEM MALE AND FEMALE. GOD BLESSED THEM, AND GOD SAID TO THEM, “BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY, FILL THE EARTH, AND SUBDUE IT. RULE THE FISH OF THE SEA, THE BIRDS OF THE SKY, AND EVERY CREATURE THAT CRAWLS ON THE EARTH.”…GOD SAW ALL THAT HE HAD MADE, AND IT WAS VERY GOOD INDEED. Genesis 1: 26-31

Have you truly taken the time to contemplate what it means to be made in God’s Image ? It is truly an amazing and complex thing to think about. Our pastor defined it in a way that I just had to share, because in this world of chaos, and trans- humanism, artificial intelligence and our endless need to re-define everything, it is good to see the exact intention of our Creator to define who we are ! Perhaps it is time to realize what we are not, and more importantly what God Is Not. God is not some nebulous power source of energy that just randomly causes something to suddenly come into existence. God is not the universe. He created the universe in all it’s beauty and complexity. God is not a fairy tale, or a myth, or a made up being….He has left all those descriptions to be espoused from the lips of men. All through the Scripture we are able to see exactly WHO GOD IS. We see His Power. We see His Authority. We see His Righteousness and Holiness. We see His love and His mercy. We see everything He is in His actions, and His instructions for our life. He created us from the very ground that He had created first, bringing us forth into life, and into relationship with Him….. Sadly, Adam and Eve truly messed things up. My mind can see them as spiritual beings, as God is spiritual, but it takes a deeper look to see the things that God wanted in us, and made us to be. The best place to start looking for answers is always in God’s Word itself:)

THE LORD GOD TOOK THE MAN AND PUT HIM IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN TO WORK IT AND TO KEEP IT. Genesis 2:15

THAT THEY SHOULD SEEK GOD, IN THE HOPE THAT THEY MIGHT FEEL THEIR WAY TOWARD HIM AND FIND HIM. YET HE IS ACTUALLY NOT FAR FROM EACH ONE OF US. Acts 17:27

IN THE SAME WAY, LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE OTHERS, SO THAT THEY MIGHT SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS AND GIVE GLORY TO YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN. Matthew 5:16

HE HAS TOLD YOU , O MAN, WHAT IS GOOD; AND WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF YOU BUT TO DO JUSTICE, AND TO LOVE KINDNESS, AND TO WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD? Micah 6:8

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. John 3:16

As you contemplate the Scriptures above, think about what you, as a human being, share with Him, for He is telling you that you are MADE IN HIS IMAGE !

You are ETERNAL, if your life rests in the hope and salvation of His Son JESUS. You are RELATIONAL, as He is relational. He desires a Personal Relationship with You. You are made to be MORAL in your thoughts and actions. He is Righteous and Truthful. You are His REPRESENTATIVE RULER ON THE EARTH. He has given you dominion. You are SIGNIFICANT. Your life and what you accomplish and give to His Kingdom matters.

When I look all around me and look at what God Has Created, I am truly awestruck. The beauty, the precision, the patterns, the cycles, the exactness….No Way It Could Be Random, and No Way It Should Not Be Significant In Your Life ! We can try really hard to think that God doesn’t matter, and that in all our efforts, we are His equal,….but it just doesn’t ring true. I hear all the men and women who tell us God doesn’t exist. God may have once been there, but He is gone now….either dead or done caring. Myth, Fairy Tale, Lies….and I laugh. If we truly did not have God, and we were not Created In His Image, what would our lives and future hold, and where would we find the crucial needs that only HE PROVIDES ? TRUTH, and HOPE, and PEACE. For me, it is simple. Jesus is MY SAVIOR, MY LORD, AND MY KING. I love Him with ALL THAT I AM, and I am SO THANKFUL that HE Created ME to BE LIKE HIM:) I urge you to seek Him. He is reaching out His Hand.

FOR FROM HIM AND THROUGH HIM AND TO HIM ARE ALL THINGS. TO HIM BE GLORY FOREVER. AMEN. Romans 11:36

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY SHALL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE: AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOR EVER. Psalm 23:6
