RENEWING YOUR MIND WITH THE WORD OF GOD

I am finding myself spending more and more time in God’s Word lately. I am drawn to it because it is my foundation for Truth and Life. God’s word gives me a clear way to think and perceive things. God’s Word is a plumb line and a compass for my focus and my path. Spending time in God’s word also lets me feel my humanity; complete in all my struggles, questions, and search for belief and faith. The Word of God lets me watch the actions of Creator and mankind from the very beginning. All the multitude of people who have sought God, seen God, heard God, and have chosen Him to rule their lives, or have rejected Him and all He asked them to do or believe. All throughout time we have watched the world and mankind wrestle with a myriad of changes, and conflicts, and new paradigms…but one thing has always stayed the same. GOD IS ALWAYS ON HIS THRONE, AND HIS WORD IS ALWAYS OUR GUIDE TO A RIGHTEOUS, PERFECT, AND ETERNAL LIFE IF WE EMBRACE IT.

FOR THE WORD OF GOD IS LIVING AND ACTIVE, SHARPER THAN ANY TWO EDGED SWORD, PIERCING TO THE DIVISION OF SOUL AND OF SPIRIT, OF JOINTS AND OF MARROW, AND DISCERNING THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTIONS OF THE HEART. Hebrews 4:12

ALL SCRIPTURE IS BREATHED OUT BY GOD AND PROFITABLE FOR TEACHING , FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, AND FOR TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE COMPETENT, EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK. 2 Timothy 3: 16-17

YOUR WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FEET AND A LIGHT TO MY PATH. Psalm 119:105

THE WORD OF GOD IS:

Eternal (Everlasting) Inspired by God (Alive and Active) Infallible (Trustworthy; Never wrong) Inerrant (No conflict; No confusion ) Incarnate (Alive in the humanity and deity of Jesus Himself) Authoritative (Accurate; Powerful; To be obeyed) Transforming (Changing; Renewing)

Those points above are exactly how we as Christian Believers and Followers of Jesus should perceive and form our belief concerning the Word Of God ! Let me assure you that the world we live in will constantly challenge those things, call them myths and lies, and push you to constantly be in a State of Doubt. “ Is God Real ?” “Is God Good ?” “Is God Just and Trustworthy ?” “Is God Your Authority ?” “Does God Really Love You ?” “Shouldn’t you Truly Put Your Trust in Yourself and other People ?” Take a long hard look around and see all the wonderful things that our world has faced and is facing when we ignore the Word of God and put our Trust in the words of men. The chaos we are seeing and sensing around us today is increasingly stoking fear and doubt. Hopelessness and struggle. Exhaustion and weariness. There are days when I find myself realizing how easy it is to think things have gotten so crazy, so bad, so uncivil that perhaps mankind is just too flawed and messed up to survive ourselves….except for one amazing thing….God’s love for us, and His Word to renew us and transform us every day.

THEREFORE, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, IN VIEW OF THE MERCIES OF GOD, I URGE YOU TO PRESENT YOUR BODIES AS A LIVING SACRIFICE, HOLY AND PLEASING TO GOD; THIS IS YOUR TRUE WORSHIP. DO NOT BE CONFORMED TO THIS AGE, BUT BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, SO THAT YOU MAY DISCERN WHAT IS THE GOOD, PLEASING, AND PERFECT WILL OF GOD. Romans 12: 1-2

SINCE YOU HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN, NOT OF PERISHABLE SEED BUT OF IMPERISHABLE, THROUGH THE LIVING AND ABIDING WORD OF GOD. 1 Peter 1:23

Dig deep in these times of your life into the Word of God. Start in Genesis and pray for discernment and understanding as you seek the “Perfect Instruction” of the Torah. See God as He moves among mankind and reveals Himself to us in oh so many ways. See Him through the eyes of the Prophets He chose to speak to His people. Watch God interact with Kings and Judges. Hear His instruction in the Psalms and Proverbs that give so much Wisdom. SEE HIS SON, JESUS, in the miracle of the Gospels….and the gift of our Salvation in the Cross. Understand why giving your life to Jesus and following Him lets you be Reborn into Him ! See the anointing of the Holy Spirit into those who believe and watch it Transform your Heart and your life so much that GOD”S WORD BECOMES YOUR LIFE ! YOU SEE IT, HEAR IT, AND WALK IN IT, IN EVERY PART OF YOUR VERY BEING !

I woke up this morning thinking about how much my friends, my family, my neighbors, my brothers and sisters in Christ, and those in the world who don’t know Him, and myself also, need the Renewing Word Of God. A refreshing of our minds, souls and spirits. A relationship with our Creator that brings hope and peace….. May God’s Word Renew You and bring His Light into your heart :) God’s Peace/JAA
