GOD'S LOVE IS NOT BLIND

4/13/2020

Have you ever really contemplated what God’s love actually is and what it encompasses ? In the times we are in, I believe that as a follower of Jesus it is very important to have a clear understanding of this, and to be able to articulate it in a very succinct manner. There are many facets to God’s love, and I think that for far too long, many non believers and believers have missed some of the plain truth about just who God is, and how His love for mankind is projected. Our God is a powerful creator, and God has always had an ordered way of thinking about things and also taking action based on eternal truth and His law. He is not swayed by circumstance, other than by His own sense of mercy and grace. Perhaps the place to begin is in the Word Of God.

KNOW THEREFORE THAT THE LORD YOUR GOD IS GOD; HE IS THE FAITHFUL GOD, KEEPING HIS COVENANT OF LOVE TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS OF THOSE WHO LOVE HIM AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. Deuteronomy 7:9

AND WE KNOW THAT FOR THOSE WHO LOVE GOD ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD, FOR THOSE WHO ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE. Romans 8:28

WHOEVER HAS MY COMMANDMENTS AND KEEPS THEM, HE IT IS WHO LOVES ME, AND HE WHO LOVES ME WILL BE LOVED BY MY FATHER, AND I WILL LOVE HIM AND MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM. John 14:21

WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE OF US? “HE HAS SHOWN YOU, O MAN, WHAT IS GOOD; AND WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF YOU BUT TO DO JUSTLY, TO LOVE MERCY, AND TO WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD ?” Micah 6:8

When we look at Scripture, we see from the very beginning that God had put in place a relationship with mankind that was full and rich. God had set an order to our lives, and He wanted nothing but a full and loving relationship with us. Unfortunately, mankind’s transgression into sin in the garden changed the very essence of the relationship. Satan drove a wedge between God and mankind that truly changed everything. In our desire to become all knowing and live our lives on our own terms, sin separated us from God, and that awful path that was set in motion so long ago still can rule us and our world today. It can, but it doesn’t have to ! Jesus has given us the path to rebuilding and healing our relationship with God. Our Father in Heaven sacrificed His Son, that if we recognize our sin, accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord, and believe that He died on the cross for our sin and has been resurrected from death unto the right hand of God the Father, that we will be Saved and Forgiven and BE RIGHT IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD ! What an amazing gift. What a chance for redemption…if you choose to accept it, and LIVE IN IT !

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. John 3:16

God does have convictions and values, as I have written about earlier. This is where I stand on my belief that God’s love is not blind. I believe that God has provided us His Word to show us how to live; the difference between right and wrong; the results of turning our backs to Him and hardening our hearts, and the hard consequences of rejecting Him and His ways and character. As a father myself, nothing pains me more than to see my kids disobey me, or turn their back to what is right. I am so lucky ! My kids have made incredibly good decisions. The problems they face are when the world and our culture dishonor or outright spit in the face of God’s Word, Values, and Character. This is their challenge, and it is my challenge as well at times. Am I all in for God and His ways, or am I going to go against Him and expect Him to accept that and let me slide on by doing things my way or the world’s way. Should I really expect Jesus in all His Righteousness and Holiness to belittle what He did for me and you by dying on a cross for our sin ? Can I truly think that I can justify not standing against things that belittle God and His truth because culture and groups of people disagree with them ? Lucky for us all, God made it very clear to me that my blog was to be all about truth and lifting people up without judging behaviors and thoughts. What a person’s motives are about things will be between their heart and God. He alone will search our hearts. There are however certain things that we must stand up for as citizens of God’s Kingdom. We stand up for God’s Word, God’s Commandments, God’s Character, God’s Truth, God’s Mercy, and God’s Love For Us. When we do, we honor and praise Him, and we bring the Truth and Peace of God to shine as a light into the darkness. We share the Gospel as disciples of Jesus that all might have hope and know the message of redemption and reconciliation with their Lord and King. He has given us eyes to see and ears to hear…if we open them to Him.

Look around at our world today. Look at how we are living, acting, and what we are putting our trust in. Know that God is looking down on us, and He sees everything, especially our hearts. He Loves Us Beyond Our Understanding, but He Is Not Blind. As men and women, we can fail and we can sin. He has provided the one thing that can open your eyes and heart and let His truth and light shine in. HIS NAME IS JESUS :) Meet Him, Give your life to Him, and SEE the depth of God’s love for you ! Then, change who you are and walk your path of life and faith ! Peace Be Yours/JAA

EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE, COMING DOWN FROM THE FATHER OF THE HEAVENLY LIGHTS, WHO DOES NOT CHANGE LIKE SHIFTING SHADOWS. James 1;17
