IS GOD CALLING YOU TO GREATER THINGS ?

One question that always seems to be on my mind as I am growing in my relationship with Jesus is “what will He ask me to think about and begin moving in this year” ? It is so easy to get caught up in the same purpose and goals and challenges from the prior year, and just keep on doing what seems comfortable, or trying to finish things that just seem incomplete or need more work. It is so much easier to keep the same habits, activities, friendship groups and goals in your life because they are familiar and seem to really challenge you, at least on the surface. But what if God wants more ? For a long time, I have been working on gaining knowledge of God’s word, and striving to understand concepts, historical perspectives, deeper thoughts and truth. My faith has grown deeper and more pure, and I have moved along the road to understanding the how’s and why’s of abiding in Jesus more each day. I am seeing my habits change, my prayer life change, my wisdom and discernment mature…..and it feels So Great ! Oh to be growing and learning and feeling good about what I am doing. For so many years I have been yearning deep inside to write ! I started A Kingdom Principled Life blog, and people are reading it and hopefully getting fruit from it. Fruit. That thing people always talk about and seems so subjective. Are you doing something that is bearing fruit brother ? How much fruit ? Show me the fruit. Is it enough fruit ? Can you bear more fruit ? I find myself wondering. “Lord, is my life and effort doing what you desire ? What do you truly want Lord ?

DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERY SITUATION, BY PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD. Philippians 4:6

I WILL INSTRUCT YOU AND TEACH YOU IN THE WAY YOU SHOULD GO; I WILL COUNSEL YOU WITH MY LOVING EYE ON YOU. Psalm 32:8

YOUR WORD IS A LAMP FOR MY FEET, A LIGHT FOR MY PATH. Psalm 119:105

The teaching and wisdom from the scriptures above convey some key points about our lives. God has us in His loving and amazing hands, and He will help us in our fears, and struggles, strengthening us in our journeys. He is telling us that He will show us what we should be focused on and doing if we seek him in prayer, and ask for His help. We don’t have to figure things out alone. He promises to instruct us and counsel us. A counselor helps us along the way by constantly helping us with our questions, giving us ideas and solutions, and basically helping us find successful and fulfilling outcomes ! God also promises to light our way. Keep us from faltering and getting lost or misdirected because we can’t see His path for us. He can do all of that based on two main things from you. Do you know Him ? Do you trust Him to be in charge of your life ?

SHOW ME YOUR WAYS, LORD, SHOW ME YOUR PATHS. GUIDE ME IN YOUR TRUTH AND TEACH ME, FOR YOU ARE GOD MY SAVIOR, AND MY HOPE IS IN YOU ALL DAY LONG. Psalm 25: 4-5

As i begin my year, God is calling me to greater things. i am hearing His voice telling me to use the things He has shown me to write two books. i’ve dreamed about writing a book all my life….and He has even given me the subject, the title, and the words. it is so amazing, and also so humbling. God has asked me to start applying all I have learned, and share it one on one and in groups with other men. Retreats where brotherhood is built, complete with deep conversation, vulnerability, and honesty. Showing us how God’s Grace, Peace, And Love makes us stronger and better. Showing us what it means to be Justified, Sanctified, and Glorified in Jesus. Greater Things ? Wow, they are for me, and I hunger for them. I have finally gotten to a place beyond salvation and myself, where I can begin to serve Him, love Him, Love others more than myself, and bring His Light and Love into my small piece of His creation. And i Am SO Grateful !

You can do Greater things ! Seek Him and see the amazing path He will set before you. Look for new and deeper ways to serve Him and worship Him. Open up your eyes and ears and heart to Him and those around you…..and find those Greater Things that He has in store….Just For You ! Wisdom/ Revelation/Path/JA
