SEEKING GOD'S TRUE PURPOSE IN YOUR LIFE BY STEPPING OUT IN FAITH

In a fast paced world it is often difficult to actually slow down and contemplate God’s true purpose for our lives. In my younger days I was busy with so many things. The majority of my time was spent pursuing My Interests and My Agenda. School, sports, friends and all the other things that occupy our life when we are just beginning to think about the possibilities ahead. At seventeen when I gave Jesus my life I was awash in the questions and concerns that go through most young peoples lives. Wondering where you are going and what will await you on the journey. For me it was college, a different state, and the challenge of building relationships. I was curious about knowing Jesus in a deeper way, but just how one went about that was kind of a mystery. My journey got off to a rough start. I was a Colorado boy, and realized quickly that Oklahoma was not for me. I felt lost and afraid I had really messed up my plan. It was my first lesson that JESUS was truly not just my Savior, but He was also my Lord ! Coming home changed me and transformed me.. I lost my insecurities over time along with my somewhat introverted personality. God moved me into youth group counseling, youth retreats and gave me a glimpse of serving Him and others. He launched me into a fun and challenging career and blessed me with an amazing family and friendship group. During that journey I also saw challenges I didn’t expect. Broken relationships, watching one of my best friends die from cancer, another lose his daughter to a tragic accident, making my own share of misguided steps and selfish decisions. Life has it’s blessings and it has it’s down times….but through it all GOD KEPT ME IN HIS HANDS.

WHETHER YOU TURN TO THE RIGHT OR TO THE LEFT, YOUR EARS WILL HEAR A VOICE BEHIND YOU, SAYING, “THIS IS THE WAY; WALK IN IT. Isaiah 30:21

MAKE ME TO KNOW YOUR WAYS, O LORD, TEACH ME YOUR PATHS. LEAD ME IN YOUR TRUTH AND TEACH ME, FOR YOU ARE THE GOD OF MY SALVATION; FOR YOU I WAIT ALL THE DAY LONG. Psalm 24: 4-5

IF ANY OF YOU LACKS WISDOM, LET HIM ASK GOD, WHO GIVES GENEROUSLY TO ALL WITHOUT REPROACH, AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO HIM. BUT LET HIM ASK IN FAITH, WITH NO DOUBTING, FOR THE ONE WHO DOUBTS IS LIKE A WAVE OF THE SEA THAT IS DRIVEN AND TOSSED BY THE WIND. FOR THAT PERSON MUST NOT SUPPOSE THAT HE WILL RECEIVE ANYTHING FROM THE LORD; HE IS A DOUBLE MINDED MAN, UNSTABLE IN HIS WAYS. James 1: 5-8

If there is one true thing that God has shown me is that despite where we are from or the circumstances that have impacted our lives, HE KNOWS US ALL AND DESIRES US ALL TO KNOW HIM AND TRUST HIM. That trust can only find its foundation in FAITH. DEEP FAITH ! God has also convinced me that FAITH GROWS WHEN WE ARE TAKING STEPS AND MOVING IN OR TOWARD PURPOSE. The tough part is figuring out that trust can mean letting go of our own plans, our fears, and our uncertainty and asking God to show us HIS PURPOSE, not our own. I believe that for all who seek Him, God will show us the talents and gifts that He put into us when we were created. Each of us is uniquely and wonderfully made to achieve that purpose by stepping out of ourselves and into God. Stepping into God and getting to know Him. The more time we spend in getting to know God, the Stronger We Become through His Guidance and Love. God in His Grace and Goodness WILL SHOW US ALL A PURPOSE. It is up to us whether we will embrace it. Will we take a risk, or play it safe ? Will we stay small and safe, or will we look to grow and DO SOMETHING MORE. God has also made it clear to me that the purpose He gives to us isn’t always Big and Bright and Loud :) In fact, the True Purpose that He gives us can be easily recognized by a few amazing things. It Glorifies Him. It Bears Fruit for His Kingdom. It Frees us to Love Him Completely and to also Love Others As Well. OPEN YOUR HEART AND LET HIM FILL IT UP !

MANY ARE THE PLANS IN THE MIND OF A MAN, BUT IT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE LORD THAT WILL STAND. Proverbs 19:21

WHO SAVED US AND CALLED US TO A HOLY CALLING, NOT BECAUSE OF OUR WORKS BUT BECAUSE OF HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE, WHICH HE GAVE US IN CHRIST JESUS BEFORE THE AGES BEGAN. 2 Timothy 1:9

BUT FOR THIS PURPOSE I HAVE RAISED YOU UP, TO SHOW YOU MY POWER , SO THAT MY NAME MAY BE PROCLAIMED IN ALL THE EARTH. Exodus 9:16

No matter where you find yourself in your life’s journey, God Is Always With You. God has given you all the gifts you will ever need to achieve Your Purpose In His Kingdom. Now it is up to YOU. Will you STEP OUT IN FAITH ? The most important thing you will ever do is GIVE YOUR LIFE TO HIM AND LET HIS PURPOSE COME TO FRUITION IN YOUR EFFORTS. HIS PURPOSE IS YOUR PURPOSE/JAA

FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN, TO US A SON IS GIVEN, AND THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE UPON HIS SHOULDERS. AND HE WILL BE CALLED WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE. Isaiah 9:6
