ALLOWING GOD'S WORD TO REFRESH OUR HEARTS AND MINDS

I am always amazed when i open the Word of God and spend time in it. It is a place where I am able to find a place of refreshing, wisdom, and most of all, TRUTH ! At times it seems like truth is definitely in short supply today. Our culture and our leadership want to tell us how we should think, even when it often defies common sense. There are myriads of books, podcasts, and dissertations on everything in our life. The interesting thing about all these things that they share in common is that they are constantly “ Changing “. It is like a constantly moving target that one must continually adjust to and look for in order to find foundation and relevance. God’s Word on the other hand is Constant and Unchanging. It is perfect, timeless and inerrant. It has stood the test of time, and has prevailed in existence against all the forces of change that have come against it. In it’s entirety, it is the complete source of instruction, experience, grace, righteousness, and eternal hope and peace for our lives. In it’s own words, it is an incorruptible TRUTH. Jesus made it clear in His life and words just how important to God it was that Mankind Never Add To Or Subtract From It. Yet, over the years since Jesus died on the cross for our sins and then rose to sit in Heaven at the right hand of the Father, mankind has done just that. Myriads of Church denominations have changed God’s Word, removed parts of the Word, and simply presented new interpretations and language completely ! So, it is so very important to understand that God’s Word IS UNCHANGEABLE. God’s Word is INERRANT. It is a place to FIND WISDOM AND TRUTH and very much not a place to pick and choose what one wishes to mold into a self created truth for life and happiness. God’s Word is much bigger than that.

FOR THE WORD OF GOD IS LIVING AND ACTIVE, SHARPER THAN ANY TWO EDGED SWORD, PIERCING TO THE DIVISION OF SOUL AND OF SPIRIT, OF JOINTS AND OF MARROW, AND DISCERNING THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTIONS OF THE HEART. Hebrews 4:12

EVERY WORD OF GOD PROVES TRUE; HE IS A SHIELD TO THOSE WHO TAKE REFUGE IN HIM. Proverbs 30:5

ALL SCRIPTURE IS BREATHED OUT BY GOD AND PROFITABLE FOR TEACHING, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, AND FOR TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE COMPETENT, EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK. 2 Timothy: 16-17

As you read those scripture verses can you see just how Amazing and Powerful the Word Of God is for your life ? Can you see how it directs you, teaches you, sharpens you, protects you, and makes you complete to flourish in Truth and Purpose ? Perhaps the most beautiful thing about the Word of God is that it is for EACH ONE OF US ! God’s Word is for all people, and the learning and wisdom that comes from it will impact each and every one of us in a unique way. His Word will help you in an exact manner for the circumstances you are in, and will refresh you in your own individual needs and desires. Oh the many times I have opened God’s Word searching for an answer, or peace, and have come out refreshed and content. Yes, God’s Word is for all of us….but one must be IN IT, and PARTAKING OF IT to truly enjoy the fullness of it. It requires time and commitment. It comes to life in fulness and fills us with it’s richness and clarity the more time we spend in it.

SO SHALL MY WORD BE THAT GOES OUT FROM MY MOUTH; IT SHALL NOT RETURN TO ME EMPTY, BUT IT SHALL ACCOMPLISH THAT WHICH I PURPOSE, AND SHALL SUCCEED IN THE THING FOR WHICH I SENT IT. Isaiah 55:11

YOUR WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FEET AND A LIGHT TO MY PATH. Psalm 119:105

What an amazing promise God has given us. HIS WORD promises to come into our hearts and minds and accomplish a purpose in our lives if we listen and embrace it ! HIS WORD will light our path and every step we take if we listen and embrace it ! As I look around our world today and hear so many voices shouting instructions and orders and division and anger, is there any better place to be than in God’s Word ? Listening to His Voice bring insight and help us through whatever challenge or storm we might find ourselves in at any given moment. There are a lot of choices in where to put your time. Lots of choices in where to seek wisdom and answers in your life. In my heart, I know that God truly loves all of us. Jesus is my savior, my companion, and my one true source of comfort and strength. Get to know Him ! Give your life to Him ! Most of all listen to what He has to say to you about your life. YOU ARE UNIQUE TO HIM AND HE LOVES YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE. Come near to Him and hear His Voice. and allow a refreshing and true peace to seep into every part of your being…..it is time to get started no matter where you are or what you are facing.
