HAS A SEED BEEN PLANTED IN YOUR HEART ?
A seed is an amazing thing. Upon examination, it always seems dried out and hard, almost as if it is devoid of life. As it falls from a plant, it can lay dormant in soil for a long time, seemingly past any chance to produce life. It’s hard exterior is like a fortress against all that may come against it. The amazing thing is that over time as that hard exterior is slowly peeled away by time and all the elements that come against it, deep in the core is a spark of life. Good soil, even challenging soil can with watering and nurturing finally produce a simple shoot that begins to grow. Sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly. The commonality is that eventually through many years and seasons, the simple shoot matures into something much more complete. Every year it will be tested, going through multiple times of perfect growing conditions, and then through difficult times of drought, storms, or attack from without. If it is in good soil, and it stays solidly rooted, chances are it will eventually thrive. Strong, healthy, and complete in it’s purpose.
As I strive n my Christian life, the thought of being like a seed becomes very clear to me. Hardened by the iniquity of sin, I too am devoid of the life that God had originally planned for me. Standing in the elements and challenges of the world, my flesh exists in a world of desires and choices that often bring no life in the sense that God desires for me. I REACHED A POINT WHERE I WAS LOOKING FOR MEANING AND TRUTH IN MY LIFE !. I heard the Gospel of Jesus one night, and everything changed for me. The Gospel and Word Of God had planted a seed in my heart.
I PLANTED THE SEED IN YOUR HEARTS, AND APOLLOS WATERED IT, BUT IT WAS GOD WHO MADE IT GROW. IT’S NOT IMPORTANT WHO DOES THE PLANTING, OR WHO DOES THE WATERING. WHAT’S IMPORTANT IS THAT GOD MAKES THE SEED GROW. 1 Corinthians 3: 6-7
FOR YOU HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN NOT OF SEED WHICH IS PERISHABLE BUT IMPERISHABLE , THAT IS, THROUGH THE LIVING AND ENDURING WORD OF GOD. 1 Peter 1 : 23
AND JESUS ANSWERED THEM, SAYING “ THE HOUR HAS COME FOR THE SON OF MAN TO BE GLORIFIED. TRULY, TRULY I SAY UNTO YOU, UNLESS A GRAIN OF WHEAT FALLS INTO THE EARTH AND DIES, IT REMAINS ALONE; BUT IF IT DIES, IT BEARS MUCH FRUIT. HE WHO LOVES HIS LIFE LOSES IT, AND HE WHO HATES HIS LIFE IN THIS WORLD WILL KEEP IT TO LIFE ETERNAL. John 12: 23-25
The seed that the Gospel of Christ once planted in your heart must be watered. And that water comes in many forms. More important is the work that happens as the seed comes to life. The hardness of our hearts and the focus on self and the world outside begins to break down. Our flesh and the focus on ourselves and the world slowly begin to die. In it’s place is born the seed of salvation and faith in the realization of just what Jesus has done for us, and given us. A rebirth in Him ! A new Identity in Him ! A new Path, Purpose, and Life in Him ! More and more you will thirst for the living water that only Jesus can provide. You will see how God is providing and directing your Growth into a citizen of His Kingdom. A son or daughter of the Most High God. The shoot of faith and rebirth begins the journey of growth and change; moving through the storms and droughts, the warm days and pleasing nights until your roots of belief and faith are deep and complete.
SOW WITH A VIEW TO RIGHTEOUSNESS, REAP IN ACCORDANCE WITH KINDNESS; BREAK UP YOUR FALLOW GROUND, FOR IT IS TIME TO SEEK THE LORD UNTIL HE COMES TO RAIN RIGHTEOUSNESS ON YOU. Hosea 10:12
SO THEN, JUST AS YOU RECEIVED CHRIST JESUS AS LORD, CONTINUE TO LIVE YOUR LIVES IN HIM, ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN HIM, STRENGTHENED IN THE FAITH AS YOU WERE TAUGHT, AND OVERFLOWING WITH THANKFULNESS.
I encourage you to look for the seed of God to find it’s way into your heart. A heart without it is indeed empty. Without the miracle of Jesus inside your life and heart, the only rewards come from self and the world. In Christ, the reward is deep, and satisfying. Most importantly, it is eternal. For All Of Time ! Find your seed, and start growing. Seek Jesus. Seek God’s word. Pray and build a relationship with God. Fellowship with like believers. Be Born Again ! Grow in Faith/JAA
